From 1997 to 2010, he served as President of one of the oldest sports clubs in his hometown of Sevnica. During this period, he was the initiator of the construction of a new, modern sports hall in the municipality and the author of its preliminary design. For this initiative and the conceptual design of the sports hall, he received special recognition from the municipality and the mayor.
He also initiated a project to publish a booklet documenting the history of the same sports club and the history of sport in the municipality in general (i.e. sport movement Sokol, meaning “falcon”, was a gymnastic, cultural, and national revival movement founded in the 19th century among Slavic peoples of Central and Eastern Europe).
Its core aim was physical education combined with moral, civic, and national consciousness.). The publication covered several decades of social and sporting life and had a significant impact on the majority of existing sports clubs in the municipality.
He served as President of the Municipal Association of Sports Clubs, following a prior term as Vice-President, and received special recognition from the Association in 2013. He was the first President of the Supervisory Council of the newly established Institute of Culture, Sport, Tourism, and Youth Activities of the municipality. On two occasions, he was recognised as the Municipality’s Sport Personality of the Year for achievements related to the development of sports infrastructure and sports management.
He served as Secretary General of the Ju-Jitsu Federation of Slovenia, a national sports association and member of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Slovenia, and held the office of President of the Federation from 2006 to 2026. In 2017, he received a special plaque from the National Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Association of Sports Federations, in recognition of his contribution to the development and promotion of ju-jitsu in Slovenia and Europe. He is also a member of the General Assembly of the NOC Slovenia.
From 2016 to 2025, he served as President of the Ju-Jitsu European Union (JJEU), following many years of service as its Secretary General, and as Vice-President of the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF). For many years, the JJEU has actively promoted Fair Play, particularly through the Fair Play Trophy awards presented at major European tournaments, including championships and other top-level events. Throughout the history of the Fair Play Trophies, recipients have included not only athletes, but also officials and team doctors. In 2019, for the first time, the annual “Christian Blareau Fair Play Award” for excellence in ethics and Fair Play was presented for the year 2018. The award originates from deep respect for the late JJEU President, Mr Christian Blareau, and his outstanding contribution to martial arts, particularly to the development and promotion of ju-jitsu, as well as his exemplary sportsmanship, professionalism, and active role in the European Fair Play Movement.
Robert Perc has received numerous recognitions, merits, and diplomas for his contribution, work, and dedication to the missions and objectives of local communities and sports organisations at local, national, and international levels, as well as for excellence in his professional achievements.
At present, he holds the office of Vice-President of the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) and serves as Head of the EFPM Branch in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
