Prof. Dr. Selçuk Bora Çavuşoğlu was born on April 25, 1976, in Beşiktaş, Istanbul. He is a former national rowing athlete and currently serves as the Head of the Department of Sports Management and the Chair of the Sports Management Sciences Division at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Faculty of Sport Sciences.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in 2001 from the Department of Physical Education Teaching at Pamukkale University. In 2004, he began his academic career as a lecturer at Istanbul University, where he has remained an active member of the faculty. He completed his master’s degree in 2007 in the Department of Advertising and Publicity at Marmara University and received his PhD in 2011 from the Department of Public Relations at the same institution.

Prof. Çavuşoğlu’s scholarly focus intersects sport sciences with communication, marketing, and ethics. He is the author of two books published by Nobel Publishing: Brand Management and Marketing Strategies (2011) and Personal Development and Motivation in Athletes (2023). He has also served as editor of several academic volumes: Fundamental Fields in Sports Management (2019), The New Normal and Sport (2021), How Sport Becomes a Brand (2022), and Child Protection in Sport (2025), all published by Nobel Publishing.

Between 2018 and 2024, he was a board member of the Turkish Triathlon Federation, where he now contributes as a member of the International Relations Committee. Since 2024, he has been serving on the Education Committees of both the Turkish Bocce, Bowling, and Darts Federation and the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation.

His international experience includes managing a project in Vancouver Canada in 2013, where he lived for one year; contributing to an academic project in North Carolina and Boston, USA; and coordinating two Erasmus+ KA-182 Sports Staff Mobility Projects: We Make Children Love Triathlon Sport (Spain, 2024) in partnership with the Turkish Triathlon Federation, and The Colors of Sport, the Fabric of Culture (Poland, 2025) in collaboration with Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa.
