Fair Play: A Daily Practice of Peace – EFPM Launches International Campaign
More Than a Dream. Sport Has the Power to Change the World.
The European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) invites its members, partners, athletes, sports organisations, schools and communities around the world to take part in its international campaign, “Fair Play: A Daily Practice of Peace.”
Launched on 21 September 2026, on the occasion of the United Nations International Day of Peace, the campaign will continue until 19 May 2027, World Fair Play Day. It aims to promote peace, respect, solidarity, inclusion and mutual understanding through sport and everyday actions.
Every Act of Fair Play Is an Act of Peace
At a time when armed conflicts continue to devastate communities, destroy homes and claim lives, the importance of peace, solidarity and mutual respect has never been greater.
While sport cannot resolve every conflict, it has the power to bring people together, overcome differences and inspire positive change. Fair Play is not limited to competition or sporting events. It is a principle that can guide our behaviour in our clubs, schools, workplaces, communities and everyday lives.
Through simple but meaningful actions, everyone can contribute to building a culture of respect, trust and peace.
The message of the campaign is clear: Fair Play is more than a sporting value – it is a daily practice of peace.
How Can You Take Part?
EFPM invites everyone to participate in the campaign through three simple initiatives:
1. Share Your Story
Share real-life Fair Play stories and inspiring experiences that demonstrate honesty, respect, solidarity and sportsmanship. Contributions may include written stories, videos, audio recordings, interviews and experiences from teams or communities.
2. Create for Peace
Express the values of Fair Play and peace through creativity. Drawings, paintings, posters, photography, digital art, poetry, music, short films and other creative works are welcome.
3. Take the Fair Play Challenge
Put Fair Play into practice through everyday actions that promote respect, inclusion, honesty, dialogue, equality, solidarity and trust. Individuals, clubs, schools, federations and communities are encouraged to organise activities that make these values visible.
Join the International Movement
EFPM encourages its members and partners to share the campaign with their organisations, athletes, clubs, schools and communities, and to organise their own Fair Play initiatives throughout the campaign period.
