2024 EUROPEAN FAIR PLAY MOVEMENT “FAIR PLAY FLAME” Award goes to the YOUTH of ACCUEIL EN MILIEU OUVERT, Charleroi, involved in the Project “TACLE AUX PRÉJUGÉS”

65 young people taking part in AMO (Accueil en Milieu Ouvert) spent
more than a year thinking about how best to combat all forms of
discrimination: on the basis of gender, religion, political orientation or
language.
They started with meetings with young people with mild mental disabilities, then with unaccompanied
minors. They organised games followed by lively discussions. These young people worked in very
different socio-economic environments and covered a wide area. They then formed three working
groups to communicate their messages through media and video capsules.
They interviewed inspirational personalities, including Thierry Witsel. They talked to other young
people from Standard de Liège and Genk about the importance of prevention. They worked with an
action theatre group called ‘La Compagnie Maritime’ to raise awareness about racism. They also took
part in a workshop at the Federal Centre in Tubize with a former member of the Red Flames.
Their influence even extended to a video clip broadcast on Eleven Sport. And all this
culminated in an unforgettable final night
