2023 EUROPEAN FAIR PLAY MOVEMENT “DIPLOMA OF RECOGNITION” goes to DON GIUSEPPE INNOCENTINI (SMR)

Don Peppino Innocentini is the founder of the Juvenes Sports Club of Serravalle.
“It was 1953 when in the Parish of Sant’Andrea di Serravalle, with the parish priest Don Tullio Gabellini,
a young chaplain arrived, Don Giuseppe Innocentini, for all ‘Don Peppino’, among the first initiatives and
activities put in place by the young and dynamic priest decides to found Juvenes (from the Latin ‘Giovani’,
name chosen by Carlo Franciosi) with the aim of bringing many young people closer to sport – football,
cycling and table tennis. Over the years, other disciplines were added such as model airplanes, fishing,
shooting, basketball, volleyball, athletics, running races and billiards with thousands of young people
wearing Juvenes jerseys. The priest, true animator of many generations of children, has traced the long
path of a dream that has become reality also in professional and competitive sport in various sectors. We
want to address a special tribute, thanks and gratitude to the founder of Juvenes, Don Peppino, for all that
he has done over the years and that he has taught us and bequeathed us with the historical motto of the
Sports Society of Serravalle: For the moral training of sports and youth.” This year the JUVENES Sports
Society of Serravalle celebrates the 70th anniversary of its foundation 1953-2023.
