2024 EUROPEAN FAIR PLAY MOVEMENT “DIPLOMA OF RECOGNITION” goes to NUNO FRAZÃO (POR)
A former Olympic athlete (Atlanta 1996), physical education teacher, coach, and sports official, Nuno has consistently demonstrated sportsmanship and integrity. He has passed these values on to his children, who balance academic and athletic excellence as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Project. He developed the first ethical training benchmarks for coaching courses in Portuguese fencing, promoting fair play especially among young athletes. As founder and leader of Clube Atlântico de Esgrima, he fosters an inclusive, values-driven environment for participants aged 5 to 70. Beyond his club, Nuno integrates ethics into his teaching and community outreach, including programs for schools, the elderly, and individuals with special needs. He champions inclusivity and lifelong engagement in sport. His commitment to fair play is exemplified by his calm resolution of a конфликт at the 2022 National Junior Championship, ensuring the competition continued smoothly.
Nuno Frazão stands out as a role model, mentor, and advocate for ethical values in sport.
