BAHRI VRESKALA (TUR) awarded with EFPM “DIPLOMA OF RECOGNITION” 2025

Bahri Vreskala Throughout his career, served in many key roles including civil servant, chief, assistant manager, Atatürk Stadium Manager, and Provincial Director in both İzmir and Istanbul. He held the position of İzmir Youth and Sports Provincial Director from 1986 to 1998, making significant contributions to the development of sports administration.
Alongside his public service, he played an active role in club management as General Manager of Yaşar Holding Karşıyaka Sports Inc. and President of the Karşıyaka Football Team. He also served Turkish sports as a competition representative of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF).
In 1993, he founded the İzmir Branch of TÜRFAD (Turkish Football Coaches Association), aiming to support the development of football through cooperation with all stakeholders. Under his leadership, TÜRFAD İzmir organized youth tournaments, educational seminars, and conferences focused on sports, health, and football—especially targeting children and young people in line with national values.

One of his most impactful initiatives is the “People Should Be Remembered While Living” ceremony, launched for the first time in Turkey. This annual event promotes the principles of loyalty, respect, and Fair Play, honoring sportspeople who have contributed to Turkish sports while they are still alive. To date, more than 700 sports figures have been recognized through this project.

Throughout his career, Bahri Vreskala has consistently placed public interest, youth education, and Fair Play at the center of his work and has received numerous awards for his contributions to sports and society.

The diploma was presented by Haldun Domac, chairman of the Turkish Fair Play Committee and renowned journalist.
