CISM and European Fair Play Movement Sign Memorandum of Understanding
BRUSSELS (BEL) – The International Military Sports Council (CISM) and the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) have officially strengthened their cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of a partnership dedicated to promoting Fair Play, ethical values, and mutual understanding through sport.
The European Fair Play Movement, one of Europe’s leading organizations in the field, actively promotes Fair Play principles across sport, education, and society.
The official signing ceremony took place on 13 May 2026 at the CISM Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, in the presence of Colonel Nilton Rolim, President of CISM, Navy Captain Roberto Recchia, CISM Secretary General, and Philippe Housiaux, President of the European Fair Play Movement and former Olympian.
This cooperation brings together two major organizations that share a common vision: using sport as a powerful tool for peace, education, inclusion, and respect.
Through this agreement, both organizations committed to developing joint initiatives, seminars, and events promoting Fair Play and tolerance; strengthening cooperation through shared communication and visibility actions; encouraging the exchange of knowledge, publications, and best practices; supporting awareness campaigns highlighting the importance of ethical values in sport; and establishing a joint action plan for future cooperation.
This partnership reflects a shared ambition to reinforce the role of sport as a driver of peace, social cohesion, and human development, fully aligned with Olympic values and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
When “Friendship through Sport” meets the “Spirit of Sport,” a stronger and more ethical future for sport begins.
