EMF EURO 2026 in Bratislava Concludes with EFPM Fair Play Recognition

The 2026 EMF EURO took place from 27 May to 4 June 2026 in Bratislava (SVK), bringing together 24 national teams for one of the most successful European minifootball championships to date.

The tournament marked the return of the European Minifootball Championship to Slovakia four years after Košice 2022. After nine days of exciting matches, Azerbaijan claimed the European title, defeating Ukraine 2–0 in the final.

EMF EURO 2026 also demonstrated the growing popularity of minifootball, attracting nearly 50,000 spectators and confirming the sport’s increasing appeal across Europe.

A particularly meaningful moment came during the closing ceremony, when the values of respect, integrity, and sportsmanship were highlighted through the presentation of the Fair Play Plaque. The plaque was presented by Katarina Raczova, Vice-President of the European Fair Play Movement, accompanied by Antonio Navaro Lopez (ESP), a member of the EC European Minifootball Federation to Borislav Aleksandrov (BUL), Vice President of the European Minifootball Federation, on behalf of the Bulgarian minifootball team.

The award recognised European Minifootball Federation’s commitment to promoting fair play, respect, and sportsmanship—values that remain central to the development of minifootball throughout Europe and closely reflect the mission of the European Fair Play Movement, which encourages athletes, officials, and sporting organisations across Europe to uphold the principles of fairness, respect, friendship, and ethical behaviour in sport.

The championship in Bratislava will be remembered not only for outstanding sporting performances and Azerbaijan’s triumph, but also for its strong message that success in sport should always go hand in hand with fair play.
