Türkiye Establishes its First Fair Play Club
Türkiye has taken an important step in promoting ethical values in sport and education with the establishment of the country’s first Fair Play Club at Istanbul University–Cerrahpaşa.
The initiative has been realized thanks to the dedicated and visionary efforts of Prof. Dr. Selçuk Bora Çavuşoğlu, Vice President of the Fair Play Commission of the Turkish National Olympic Committee and a member of the Executive Board of the European Fair Play Movement.
The newly established club aims to promote and strengthen the spirit of Fair Play among university students by encouraging the core values of respect, justice, honesty, and sportsmanship both in sport and in everyday life.
The creation of this pioneering initiative represents a significant milestone in the development of sports ethics and youth education in Türkiye. By integrating Fair Play principles into the university environment, the club will contribute to raising awareness among young people and inspiring future generations to embrace integrity and respect in sport and society.
The European Fair Play community warmly congratulates Prof. Dr. Selçuk Bora Çavuşoğlu for his outstanding and selfless efforts in promoting Fair Play values within higher education institutions. His leadership and commitment serve as an inspiring example for universities across Europe and beyond.
The establishment of Türkiye’s first Fair Play Club is expected to encourage similar initiatives in other universities, further strengthening the global movement for fairness, respect, and integrity in sport.
